Do the Boston Celtics have a bone to pick with the Los Angeles Clippers over the Kawhi Leonard scandal? Earlier this week, news broke that the Clippers might be behind a scheme to pay Leonard more than the salary cap rules set by the collective bargaining agreement (CBA) that had been uncovered by NBA reporter Pablo Torre.

The scheme, if it was one, was effectively a no-show job that did not require Kawhi to endorse anything, and may have fallen afoul of league rules — potentially in a major way. The reason why the Celtics and the rest of the NBA might be so irked is because the very rules that may be being broken were put into place to help level the field for other ball clubs compared to the unmatchable spending power of Clippers owner Steve Ballmer.
