As fall temperatures near, sleeping in on Saturday mornings is a habit most will abandon for the next few months. One of the better college football traditions happened in Oklahoma.

As No. 18 Oklahoma hosts No. 15 Michigan in the biggest Week 2 game, ESPN’s College GameDay took place in Norman, OK. The multi-hour weekly Saturday morning show previews the upcoming slate as fans across the country are glued to their couch and TV screens for the entire day.

Oklahoma fans camped at College GameDay’s college campus booth. They serve as a colorful backdrop that’s as entertaining as the actual breakdowns from analysts like Pat McAfee and Nick Saban. One of the better traditions from ESPN’s flagship show is the homemade signs littered throughout the crowd.

You get to really learn about a school’s fandom through their signs. It’s a nice peek into their world as college students get creative. Considering Paycom Center is only 30 minutes away from OU’s campus, it shouldn’t be surprising to see the Oklahoma City Thunder mentioned on Saturday’s show.

In the background, you could spot Chet Holmgren and Jalen Williams fatheads. They were there last year when College GameDay was in town. Both players played an important role in the Thunder’s NBA championship quest these past playoffs.

It won’t be much longer until they return to action. Once football weekends get rolling, basketball isn’t too far behind. The Thunder will enter the 2025-26 season as the consensus favorite to repeat as champions. OKC’s training camp will start in less than a month.
