Dwight Howard, an eight-time NBA All-Star center and three-time member of the Los Angeles Lakers, is officially a member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame after being inducted on Saturday. It was the exclamation point on a career that had plenty of ups and downs but did result in him winning an NBA championship with the Lakers toward the end.
Over the years, Howard had a much-publicized feud with Lakers great Shaquille O’Neal. O’Neal took him to task for a number of things, including not fulfilling his full potential as a player.

But it appears the feud is over. On Saturday, O’Neal was on hand for Howard’s induction ceremony, and he walked Howard out onto the stage.
Howard gave him a positive shout-out during his speech.
“We did not always see eye-to-eye, but in hindsight, I believe it was just sibling rivalries,” Howard said. “… I just want y’all to know that the two original Superman is in the building today, and it’s an honor to have you walk me out into this arena.”
O’Neal was decked out in a snazzy blazer that featured flower prints, and he said it was to give Howard his flowers.
For his career, Howard averaged 15.7 points, 11.8 rebounds and 1.8 blocks a game, and he led the NBA in rebounding average five times and in blocks per game twice. In his three seasons with L.A., he put up 10.7 points, 8.8 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in 24.4 minutes a game.
