Ben Simmons remains unsigned. The 29-year-old is in free agency, and the Eastern Conference teams continue to show strong interest in him ahead of the next season. After being traded from the Philadelphia 76ers for James Harden, Simmons did not reach expectations.
Simmons’s trade to the Philadelphia 76ers shocked many. Simmons’s name is emerging not only in the East but also in the West, as the Minnesota Timberwolves are reportedly eyeing him. But amid the growing uncertainty, Simmons is likely to make an unex pected move this offseason, though nothing is clear yet.
“The interest has been lukewarm… The reality is, he’s looking at the minimum contract. He might even be forced to take a non-guaranteed contract. At the end of the day, his stock has been falling dramatically for years,” NBA insider Brian Windhorst of ESPN said on Simmons’ market value.
It’s unclear whether any team will take a chance on Simmons. Once seen as a future asset, his value surprisingly dropped, and his future in the NBA remains uncertain.

The Memphis Grizzlies were once a top contender. They won 56 games in the 2021-22 season. But since then, they started to struggle, and their star presence, Ja Morant, has not been the same. Injuries and suspensions limited his time on the court.
Windhorst noted a strong claim regarding Morant’s potential and some harsh realities on the franchise. “This team, if they’re going to go back to being a top four team, which they were for several years, it was when Ja Morant was an All-NBA player,”Windhorst stated.“They traded Desmond Bane, arguably their third-best player. I think reset is the word that is preferred.”
The upcoming season is crucial for Morant’s career and for the franchise. The Grizzlies could surprise the league if he can return to his All-NBA form. All eyes will be on Morant as the 26-year-old will be in the Grizzlies’ core to prove something bigger.
