Casual fans of the Boston Celtics might not know his name, but public relations legend Jeff Twiss has been the glue that has helped hold together the storied franchise since the dawn of the Larry Bird era. For decades, the man has been the invisible hand and the secret sauce that has kept the ship that is the Celtics running smoothly and in position to contend for titles without unneeded distractions all while connecting the local and national press corp with the players, coaches, staff, and execs that fuel their stories.

It can’t be overemphasized his import to the organization over the years, and Twiss is now set to be recognized for that work by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. To get a look behind the scenes on how that came about and what he can share from all those years working in such a role, NBC Sports Boston’s Chris Forsberg recently sat down with the man himself.

Take a look at the clip embedded below to hear what they had to say about Twiss’ iconic career behind the scenes with the Celtics.
