They grew up so close that the death of Michelle Anthony broke her little brother, Carmelo Anthony. According to one of the statements of the 10x NBA star, Michelle Anthony used to watch all the games of her brother, call him after the matches, and used to point out his mistakes and areas of improvement.

Michelle Anthony was born in Brooklyn, New York. Later on, she moved to Baltimore in the year 1992. She had four siblings, including her, and Carmelo Anthony was the youngest. However, the death of their dad was followed by the death of Carmelo Anthony’s sister, Michelle Anthony, who died in 2010. She was 12 years older than her brother. Michelle Anthony was just 38, and a mother of four at that time. Throughout her life, Michelle Anthony supported her little brother and provided him with all the support he needed. During his Hall of Fame speech, Carmelo Anthony made sure to pay a heartfelt tribute to his sister. “To my sister, Michelle Anthony. You have been my protector, my voice of reason, my anchor in every storm…”, he said. “You are a Hall of Fame in every sense of the word, sis. This honor is yours too”.

Carmelo Anthony was leading his team, the Denver Nuggets, to the playoffs when he heard the news of his sister’s death. He immediately took some time off from the game and went to Baltimore to be with his family and to pay his one last tribute to his beloved sister, Michelle Anthony. “My sister was somebody who actually raised me with my mother. We’ve been through thick and thin. Everybody who had a sister knows the type of relationship a brother and sister have”, as per ESPN, Carmelo Anthony said. “I’m going to miss her calling me after every game, telling me what I did wrong, telling me what I did good, and giving me some encouragement.
