The sister of a prominent NBA star has been tragically killed at 28 years old.
Naz Reid, a 26-year-old big man for the Minnesota Timberwolves, is mourning the loss of his older sister. Reid, who won NBA Sixth Man of the Year in 2024, grew up in New Jersey. He attended Roselle Catholic in Roselle, New Jersey before starring collegiately at Louisiana State University.

Tragically, Reid’s sister, Toraya Reid, was killed over the weekend in an apparent shooting.

Reid’s sister was allegedly killed by a romantic partner in a shooting over the weekend.
“Shaquille Green — a 29-year-old man — has been arrested and charged with murder, according to Sports Illustrated. SI reports Reid and Green were dating,” TMZ Sports reported.
“According to cops … officers responded to the complex around 11 AM Saturday morning and found Toraya lying unresponsive, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Officers say they found Green running up a street away from the scene.”

The veteran NBA big man spoke out about his sister in a 2023 interview, calling her “super protective, she treats us like she’s our parent.”
