Toraya was found with several gunshot wounds near the exit of an apartment complex, according to Ocean County prosecutors.

Shaquille Green, 29, was arrested and charged with murder.

Prosecutors revealed that Green and Toraya had been in a relationship.

Green was arrested after cops spotted him running down a nearby street.

He has also been charged with the possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon.

Naz shared throwback snaps of himself and his sister from their childhood as he paid tribute to his sibling.

He has not yet posted a statement about her death.

In a 2023 sit-down with the St. Paul Magazine, he recalled how his sister was protective.

“My older sister is super protective, she treats us like she’s our parent,” he said.

Naz’s other sister, Jakahya, said she hoped her sibling’s death was a “sick joke.”

“We always send our condolences and say we could never imagine ourselves in that situation….. and yet here I am,” she wrote on Facebook.

“Facing the unimaginable. Without you by my side.”

Jakahya said she wouldn’t be able to “get over” the loss of her sister.

“I’ll never forgive god for taking you away from me, idk what kind of sick plan that man above has but I know losing you couldn’t have been apart of it,” she said.

“I can’t even phantom [sic] putting your name and death in the same sentence.

“This s**t so real, so surreal.

“The whole way home I was just hoping and praying it was some kind of sick joke that you would call me and tell me it wasn’t true.

“I’m disgusted. I’m hurt. But most of all I’m angry. I will never be okay.”

Naz, who played college basketball for Louisiana State University, was drafted to the Timberwolves in 2019.

He has made over 400 appearances for the NBA side.

Last season, the forward averaged just over 14 points per game.

That was his best regular season average in the six seasons that he has starred for the Timberwolves.

Naz has developed into somewhat of a cult hero at the Timberwolves.

Fans use his name to greet one another at games, as reported by the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

Naz scooped the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year Award in 2024.

He and his teammates are gearing up for their first game of the NBA season against The Denver Nuggets, which takes place on October 4.
