The sister of a prominent NBA player was gunned down Saturday morning outside of an apartment complex in New Jersey, local police and a source close to the situation confirmed to NBC News.
Toraya Reid, the sister of Minnesota Timberwolves player Naz Reid, was found in Ocean County by police around 11 a.m. Saturday with multiple gunshot wounds.
Police said the 28-year-old was lying in the road in front of the Paragon Apartment Complex off Larsen Road in Jackson Township.
Officers responding to the scene found 29-year-old Shaquille Green, who police said had a romantic relationship with the victim, running down North New Prospect Road. He was picked up by police and ultimately arrested on murder and weapon possession charges.
