There are very few things that will cause Boston Celtics point Derrick White to miss a game for his team. But when his son Hendrix was born while the Celtics were in the middle of the NBA’s Eastern Conference Finals, the University of Colorado – Boulder alum understandably chose to take the night off to be with his family after the birth of his child.

And while there may always be that one loud ‘fan’ of Boston griping about the import of such a moment for the Celtics, some things are bigger than basketball, as White sagely knew. Speaking on a recent episode of his “White Noise” podcast, the Colorado native took some time to tell how he came to that conclusion with co-host Welsh.
