OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLA (KOKH) — The Oklahoma City Thunder is opening the Thunder Reading Challenge, in partnership with American Fidelity Assurance Company, on Oct. 1. The initiative aims to foster a lifelong passion for reading among students.
Second-grade classrooms throughout Oklahoma are invited to participate in the challenge, competing for top honors. The three highest-performing schools will be awarded cash prizes and individual awards. The school with the highest overall reading average will also hold a special assembly featuring Thunder entertainers.
The challenge will run until March 31, with monthly prizes awarded to the top 10 schools based on average reading minutes.
