The Philadelphia 76ers suffered through a miserable 24-58 season in 2024-25 as injuries decimated the roster. The Sixers were expected to contend for a title led by Joel Embiid, Paul George, and Tyrese Maxey, but injuries limited Embiid to only 19 games, George played 41, and Maxey 52.
It wasn’t just the star trio, either. Rookie Jared McCain was limited to only 23 games, backup big man Andre Drummond only played 40 games, and key free agent addition Caleb Martin was limited as well before he was sent to the Dallas Mavericks. All up and down the roster, the Sixers couldn’t stay healthy for an extended period of time and it ruined any chance they had at contending.
Of course, there are more injury concerns heading into the 2025-26 season as Embiid is recovering from April knee surgery and George underwent a procedure in the offseason to solve his own knee issues, but George believes the Sixers are in a great spot in terms of health. He gave a confident statement to popular streamer, IShowSpeed saying the team looks healthy.
Of course, that will remain to be seen when the Sixers take the court in October, but if the Sixers can finally get a little luck in the injury department, then they will be in great shape as time moves forward. The East is wide open and the Sixers are going to have a great chance to contend as long as their guys are ready to go.
