The Philadelphia 76ers still have some offseason business to attend to as training camp continues to approach. Quentin Grimes remains unsigned and the Sixers are looking to find a way to bring back the restricted free agent on a deal that makes sense–although the qualifying offer will likely be the outcome in this scenario.

In order to create some more wiggle room in terms of cap space, it appears the Sixers are looking to shed some salary. Per insider Jake Fischer on a recent livestream for Bleacher Report, two names that pop up are Kelly Oubre Jr. and Andre Drummond:

There has been buzz all summer long about the Sixers looking to potentially move one of, if not both, Andre Drummond and Kelly Oubre.

Moving off Oubre or Drummond would make a lot of sense for Philadelphia. While both are productive players, there doesn’t appear to be much room for either player at this point. The Sixers would probably like to see more of Adem Bona off the bench and they did just bring in younger big men such as Jabari Walker and Dominick Barlow in the offseason on two-way deals and Drummond blocks all three players at the moment if he’s on the roster.

As for Oubre, he is one of the more versatile players on the roster and is a reliable role player, but the Sixers would likely want to see what they have in second-year man Justin Edwards. It remains to be seen what happens with camp approaching, but the Sixers have to shed some salary to bring back Grimes, and moving off Oubre and Drummond make the most sense at this moment in time.
