Indiana Pacers rookie Taelon Peter was among the players on hand for a recent team-bonding event hosted by Aaron Nesmith at his home in Charleston, South Carolina.

Peter and Nesmith were spotted in a photo following a workout, along with Johnny Furphy, Bennedict Mathurin, Ben Sheppard and Jarace Walker, among others. The players went through various conditioning exercises on the beach and some shooting exercises at a nearby gym.

The offseason is an excellent chance for incoming rookies to get to know their new teammates and start building chemistry with one another. Peter recently attended an Indy Indians baseball game and had the opportunity to train with other veteran teammates last week.

Peter was the Conference USA Sixth Man of the Year last season at Liberty, averaging 13.7 points, four rebounds and one assist on 45.3% shooting from 3-point range. He led the country in true shooting percentage (72.4) and was 19th in player efficiency rating (27.2).

The 54th pick debuted with the Pacers in the NBA Summer League, averaging 9.5 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.8 assists on 57.1% shooting from the field in four appearances. He produced a summer league-high 15 points on July 12 in a loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Peter will split his time between the NBA and the G League after signing a two-way contract on July 24. He is eligible to be active for up to 50 games in the NBA and will earn $636,435, which is equal to 50% of the minimum salary applicable to a player with zero years of service.
