It continues to be a good summer for NBA players that Sam Presti drafted. The Chicago Bulls have signed Josh Giddey to a four-year, $100 million contract extension, per ESPN’s Shams Charania.
After months of negotiations, Giddey has ended his unrestricted free agency with a deal that keeps him in Chicago through the 2028-29 season. There are no team or player options in the four-year contract.

If you’re the Thunder, it’s good to see Giddey land a massive deal. He spent his first three seasons in OKC before he was traded to the Bulls for Alex Caruso. The trade has worked out for both sides. Giddey had a career season and Caruso helped the Thunder win an NBA championship.
Giddey averaged 14.6 points on 46.5% shooting, 8.1 rebounds and 7.1 assists in 70 games this past season. A post-All-Star break surge saw him put up near 21-point triple-doubles. The 22-year-old has been a productive starter in his career after he was taken with the No. 6 pick of the 2021 NBA draft.
It was interesting to see what Giddey would receive in his second contract. Considering Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jalen Williams, Chet Holmgren and Giddey combined to sign a total of $922 million in contract extensions this offseason, the Thunder likely wouldn’t have been able to keep all four.
