1. Jonathan Kuminga / SF / Golden State / Restricted

Pulled from head coach Steve Kerr’s rotation at crucial times in 2024-25, it seems very likely his next stop will be somewhere other than Golden State. Has greatly developed his off-the-dribble scoring and shooting, and is an athletic slasher off the ball, but perhaps wants a bigger role than the Warriors are going to offer. Could be a great investment for another team that believes in his development.

2. Malik Beasley / SG / Detroit

Finished second in made three-pointers this past season while shooting 41.6 percent from three. A confident shooter from the outside with a quick release and good rise on his jumper. One of the best shooting specialists in the league right now.

3. Quentin Grimes / SG / Philadelphia / Restricted

Small sample size (28 games) needs to be considered, but after getting traded from Dallas to Philadelphia, he put up huge numbers – nearly 22 points per game with over five rebounds and four assists – efficiently, too, shooting almost 47 percent from the floor with the Sixers. That elevation in play could not have come at a better time with him about to hit restricted free agency.

4. Al Horford / C / Boston

Still an impactful two-way player despite his age who played a huge role in Boston’s semi-recent title run thanks to his shooting and defense. Still a positive on the court. Has said recently he intends to continue playing in the NBA.

5. Russell Westbrook / PG / Denver

Tasked with playing more of an off-ball role and allowed to focus his energy on causing havoc defensively and on the glass, he had a solid season in Denver. He’ll still take a few too many errant shots and have a bad turnover here and there, but he’s well-liked by teammates and does create extra possessions with his help defense and rebounding.

Energy player with good athleticism, tenacity on defense and with a solid outside jumper. All in all, a positive impact role player. Coming off a career-high in points average.

9. Malcolm Brogdon / PG / Washington

Only played 24 games this season and was clearly never his usual efficient self. Shot an uncharacteristically poor 28.6 percent from three last season. He should still get the benefit of the doubt as a free agent, though, as his full body of work in his career has been impressive.
