ESPN released its Big Monday schedule for the 2026 season, and BYU-Arizona will play Monday, January 26 at 7pm MT in Provo. Below are the Big 12’s six Big Monday games.
This is BYU’s first Big Monday game as a member of the Big 12. ESPN will put one ACC matchup and one Big 12 game as part of the doubleheader. BYU-Arizona will be the second half of a double header following Louisville-Duke.
The only potential downside of a Big Monday game for BYU is that is could come after a Saturday matchup. Since BYU doesn’t play on Sundays, that leaves less time for practice. Coaches and players still watch film on Sunday and they will do a walkthrough Monday, so I really don’t think it will impact BYU much. Arizona will have to travel on Sunday, so that travel day is essentially offset by BYU not taking the practice floor on Sunday. Kevin Young is also very used to little practice time from his NBA days, so I’m not worried about the Saturday to Monday turnaround. The visibility of having a Big Monday matchup on ESPN is the big win here.
