Josh Giddey entered this offseason as one of the top restricted free agents in the NBA.

Following a career-defining 2024-25 NBA season, Josh Giddey was expected to earn a massive payday from the Chicago Bulls.

After a long stalemate, the Bulls finally re-signed Giddey to a four-year, $100 million deal. The move comes days after Cam Thomas’ agreement with the Brooklyn Nets.

Even at $25 million per annum, NBA fans feel Giddey’s contract will be worth it for the franchise.

The 2024-25 NBA season marked the end of Zach LaVine’s career with the Bulls as he was traded to the Sacramento Kings.

While LaVine is no longer a member of the Bulls, he ensured to share a short yet solid response to Giddey’s new deal.

“Deserved my guy!” LaVine commented below Giddey’s Instagram post.

The 22-year-old averaged 14.6 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 7.2 assists per game for the Bulls last season. Considering his young age, Giddey’s numbers should go up a notch as he prepares for Year 5 in the NBA.

Josh Giddey’s deal will help Jonathan Kuminga’s negotiations with the Golden State Warriors

Aside from Thomas and Giddey, Jonathan Kuminga remains a top restricted free agent. Similar to those two, Kuminga and the Golden State Warriors are at a stalemate over his new deal.

However, with Giddey signing a huge $100 million deal, it will reportedly aid Kuminga’s negotiations with the Warriors.

After all, Kuminga’s camp has demanded a similar deal from the Dubs, but with a player option in the final year.

With NBA training camp nearing, the next few weeks will likely decide the fate of Kuminga’s future with the Warriors.
