Packers DE Micah Parsons on Jayden Daniels, Washington Commanders
Micah Parsons talks about the key to slowing down quarterback Jayden Daniels and the Commanders’ offense.
Members of the Milwaukee Brewers made the most of their off day Sept. 11 by taking in the Green Bay Packers game at Lambeau Field against the Washington Commanders, with Brice Turang, Sal Frelick, Caleb Durbin, Andrew Vaughn, Erick Fedde and Joey Ortiz among those on hand.
Ortiz, a self-avowed Packers fan even before he joined the organization, was even donning one of the white cheeseheads doled out as part of the “Winter Warning” all-white uniform motif that the Packers will employ for the Week 2 game. He also donned a white Micah Parsons jersey.
“I’ve actually been, one time. I came in December maybe a year or two ago when they were playing the Rams, it’s the coldest game I’ve ever been to,” Ortiz told TV reporter Dave Schroeder of WBAY in Green Bay.
Durbin likewise had a white cheesehead. Both were custom headgear with the players’ names.
Turang, however, probably will at least be conflicted. His brother-in-law is Commanders punter Tress Way, who’s married to his sister, Brianna, a former softball player at the University of Oklahoma, where Way played on the football team.
The Brewers weren’t the only Milwaukee sports stars at the Packers game. The cheesehead-wearing Myles Turner and AJ Green of the Milwaukee Bucks took in the game as well. It was Turner’s first time at Lambeau Field.
The crossover won’t stop Thursday. The Brewers announced that ex-Packers team president Mark Murphy will throw out the ceremonial first pitch at Saturday’s game, Sept. 13, at American Family Field.
The Brewers open a three-game series against the St. Louis Cardinals on Sept. 12.
