Aaron Gordon’s increase in offensive production was the pleasant surprise that Nuggets Nation needed last season. He posted a career-high in both 3PT% (43.6%) and FT% (81.0%) throughout an injury-riddled 2024-25 campaign, and was the second best player on the Nuggets behind Nikola Jokic in the postseason.

That level of production on the offensive end of the floor is exactly what the Nuggets needed with a sub-par bench in the postseason, and was arguably the best offensive season he ever posted, even better than the few years in Orlando when he was the Magic’s best option to score.

Heading into a 2025-26 season that has a lot of hype surrounding it, Gordon made a bold statement that should get Nuggets fans even more fired up for the upcoming season.

“I feel like I’m the best I have ever been in basketball,” Gordon said in a video recapping his Asia tour with 361 Degrees.

Gordon was overseas with the shoe brand that he’s a global ambassador for at the end of August when he visited a half dozen cities in a week. He received a level of love that only Mr. Nugget could get, as it was a clear sign that he has a fanbase that stretches far outside of the Mile High City.

The 29-year-old gave everything in his power to help the Nuggets win in the playoffs, capped off by him posting eight points and 11 rebounds in the Game 7 loss to Oklahoma City despite playing on one hamstring. He suffered a grade 2 strain that usually takes weeks to heal, but he put everything on the line to win that one game in a move that Nuggets fans won’t forget.

This year, Gordon should have much more help than he’s had in years past. He won’t have to play backup center in the playoffs — a method that helped Denver win its first championship in 2023 — now that Jonas Valanciunas is in town, and he won’t be asked to do as much on offense with Cam Johnson and Tim Hardaway Jr. being part of the attack.

Highlights of Gordon putting in work with his new teammates at some offseason runs showed that he looks to be in elite shape. The hamstring is looking good while Gordon himself is looking unguardable. This statement, and the coinciding highlights, should get Nuggets fans even more excited for what’s to come this upcoming season.
