Three-time All-Star Norm Van Lier and three players from the Chicago Bulls’ first three-peat are among the six people who will enter the team’s Ring of Honor this fall.
The Bulls on Friday announced the Class of 2025 — Van Lier, Horace Grant, Bill Cartwright, John Paxson, assistant coach Johnny Bach and broadcaster Neil Funk — that will be celebrated at a private gala Nov. 20 and during a Nov. 22 game against the Washington Wizards at the United Center. Single-game tickets for that game have yet to be released.
“Each member of the Class of 2025 has earned their place in Bulls history, as their impact goes far beyond the court, the locker room or the broadcast booth,” Bulls President and CEO Michael Reinsdorf said in a statement. “This November, we look forward to cementing their legacies and celebrating Johnny, Bill, Neil, Horace, John and Norm alongside our fans.”
The Bulls introduced the Ring of Honor in January 2024 with an inaugural class of Artis Gilmore, Phil Jackson, Michael Jordan, Johnny “Red” Kerr, Dick Klein, Jerry Krause, Toni Kukoč, Bob Love, Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman, Jerry Sloan, Chet Walker, Tex Winter and the 1995-96 team.
New members will be inducted every other season. To qualify, a player must have played at least three seasons for the Bulls and been retired from basketball for at least three years. Every player in the inaugural class was either a member of the Naismith Hall of Fame or had his jersey number retired by the franchise.
