The Minnesota Timberwolves reached the Western Conference Finals for the second consecutive season last year, but they once again fell short of reaching the NBA Finals.
Despite this, Minnesota is expected to be a contender once again this season with Anthony Edwards and Rudy Gobert leading the way along with Julius Randle and Naz Reid, both of whom they re-signed in free agency.

Outside of re-signing Randle, Reid and Joe Ingles, the only addition to Minnesota’ roster this offseason was Joan Beringer who they selected 17th overall in the 2025 draft.
The Timberwolves also lost a key player in Nickeil Alexander-Walker in free agency as he elected to sign with the Atlanta Hawks.
While that may be the case, Minnesota is looking to make another deep playoff run this season, though they could elect to make moves ahead of the trade deadline.

If that is the case, these three players could be potential trade candidates for them.
Donte DiVincenzo

Minnesota acquired Donte DiVincenzo from the from the New York Knicks last summer in the trade that sent Karl-Anthony Towns to New York.
In his first season in Minnesota, the 28-year-old guard played a key role for them off the bench and that could be the case once again this season, especially with the departure of Alexander-Walker.
Despite this, the Timberwolves could look to move DiVincenzo this season as they could elect to give more playing time to Terrence Shannon Jr.

Mike Conley

Since taking over as the Timberwolves’ starting point guard in 2023, Mike Conley has played a key role for Minnesota.
Despite this, the 37-year-old guard’s production dropped off last season and with Robert Dillingham waiting behind him, Minnesota could look to move the veteran guard this season.
While that may be the case, it is likely that if Minnesota does want to move Dillingham into the starting lineup, they will keep Conley to come off the bench where he should still have a large role both on and off the court.

Leonard Miller

Leonard Miller has not seen much playing time over his first two seasons in the NBA as he has only played in a combined 30 games for the Timberwolves over that time.
Of course, the 21-year-old forward has been stuck in the G League where he has excelled, and that could be the case once again this season.
If that ends up being the case for Miller once again, Minnesota could look to move him and he should draw interest from multiple teams looking for more young talent.

While Minnesota could move these players, it is likely that they will elect to keep their current core together as they try to make another deep playoff run this season.
