August 10 marked the one year anniversary of Stephen Curry’s memorable performance for Team USA in the gold medal game against France in the 2024 Olympics. Despite a year passing since Curry earned his first Olympic gold medal of his career, people are still talking about Curry’s red-hot performance against France.
In a recent appearance on The Old Man and the Three podcast, French big man Rudy Gobert was asked about Curry’s performance in the gold medal game against France. Although they were playing against eachother in the Olympics, the Minnesota Timberwolves center had nothing but praise for Curry’s performance.
Obviously the competitor in you is, in that momen, you’re frustrated. But very quiet you can only be gratefule to be able to witness and live such greatness. When you witness those kind of plays and efforts, you can only tip your hat. You don’t want to be turned into a fan, you know you want to be — okay, like this is one of the greatest to every do it and this is one of those moments when I don’t think we lose the game there. I think we lose the game before. But when that happens, you can only tip your hat.

On the way to a team-high 24 points on 8-of-14 shooting from the field, Curry knocked down a flurry of ridiculous jumpers, including multiple deep 3-pointers to ice the game down the stretch. Curry finished the game with eight made triples to go along with five assists and two steals in 30 minutes against France.
