The Brooklyn Nets have had many players come through the organization since the inception of the franchise many years ago that Nets fans can remember in the back of their minds. Brooklyn is actively trying to rebuild the franchise back to the point where they can compete for a championship, but one of their former players has found his way outside of the league.

“I mean, it means everything to me. Obviously, I’ve played basketball for quite some time, and early on in my career, I was kind of bouncing around a lot from team to team,” Larkin said in an interview of HoopsHype’s Cyro De Asseo. Larkin last played in the during the 2017-18 season for the Boston Celtics, but he had arguably his best season in the NBA during his time in Brooklyn.

Every single year for the first five years of my career, I was in a new city, new state, new teammates, new coach, new coaching staff, new surroundings,” Larkin continued. “So when I landed in Turkey and started having some success, I had an opportunity to once again make another jump and go somewhere else. But I think I just wanted to find my footing and kind of be able to grow with the group of people that I felt really comfortable with.”

Larkin, 32, came into the NBA as the 18th overall pick of the 2013 NBA Draft after playing his college basketball at the University of Miami (Florida). Larkin played for four different teams during his four years in the NBA, including for the Nets during the 2015-16 campaign when he averaged 7.3 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game while shooting 44.2% from the field and 36.1% from three-point land.

Larkin, who currently plays for Anadolu Efes in the Euroleague, has gone on to be one of the better players in the Euroleague and seems to have found his home for his basketball career. At this point, Larkin has made a name for himself in Turkey, but it’s cool to go back to when he arguably put himself on the map during his days playing for the Nets in the NBA.
