Brooklyn Nets rookie Danny Wolf returned to Ann Arbor on Saturday as the No. 23 Michigan Wolverines hosted an in-state matchup against Central Michigan.
Wolf was honored on the video board ahead of kickoff after helping Michigan to the Big Ten championship last season as a junior. He received a warm ovation from those on hand for the contest at the Big House, their last non-conference game of the season.
The Wolverines (1-1) entered the game as 27 1/2-point favorites over the Chippewas (1-1) from the MAC. The Bryce Underwood-led group held a 35-3 lead at halftime, with Michigan outgaining Central Michigan in total yards, 362-79.
Wolf was named to the All-Big Ten second team last season, averaging 13.2 points, 9.7 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.4 blocks on 49.7% shooting from the field. He scored in double figures 26 times, including a season-high 23 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists on Jan. 16.
The 27th pick in the 2025 NBA draft logged three appearances with the Nets in summer league, averaging 10 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists, two blocks and one steal on 40% shooting from 3-point range. He finished off his stay with an 18-point effort on July 16.
Wolf is among a crowded draft class for the Nets, joining Egor Dёmin (eighth pick), Nolan Traoré (19th pick), Drake Powell (22nd pick) and Ben Saraf (26th pick). The Nets became the first team in history to select five players in the first round of the draft.
