The NCAA included Mississippi Valley State in a release about possible sports betting violations at six schools involving 13 former men’s basketball players on Sept. 11.

The violations include “athletes betting on and against their own teams, sharing information with third parties for purposes of sports betting, knowingly manipulating scoring or game outcomes and/or refusing to participate in the enforcement staff’s investigation.”

The NCAA said it will not publicly name the players involved until the infractions process is over, and that none of the athletes are enrolled at their previous schools.

“We respect the NCAA’s process and have no further comment at this time,” Mississippi Valley State said in a release from the school to the Clarion-Ledger.

Per the NCAA, the schools and their respective staffs are not alleged to have been involved in the violations, and the NCAA is not seeking penalties against the universities.

The NCAA became aware of the unusual betting activity through its integrity monitoring program and network of sources.

Other schools mentioned in the NCAA’s release were Eastern Michigan, Temple, Arizona State, New Orleans and North Carolina A&T.

Findings in three similar cases involving former Fresno State and San Jose State athletes were released Sept. 10.
