Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton provides update on Achilles injury
Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton tore his Achilles in Game 7 of the NBA Finals in June. Haliburton provided an update on his recover Saturday.
INDIANAPOLIS — Tyrese Haliburton got to wear shoes named after him for the first time in Game 1 of June’s NBA Finals. Later this month, the Pacers’ All-Star point guard’s signature shoes will go on sale for the first time and the first pairs will be sold in Indianapolis.
Puma, the German sneaker company Haliburton signed with last October, announced Monday morning that it will globally launch the Hali 1 in its Opal colorway — shades of blue — on Sept. 26. The company also announced that on Sept. 25 there will be a pop-up “Hali-Mart” in Indianapolis that will sell the first 317 pairs, nodding to the city’s area code. The store will be located at 901 N. Pennsylvania Street across from the Indianapolis Public Library and will be open from 3-7 p.m.. Both Haliburton and shoe designer Salehe Bembury — with whom Haliburton collaborated on the shoe — will be in attendance. The shoe will retail for $130.
Haliburton wore the shoe in its “hibisicus” colorway during the NBA Finals. It’s his first signature shoe and also the first signature shoe designed by Bembury though he’s collaborated with several major shoe and fashion companies including New Balance and Versace. The shoe features Haliburton’s signature Hali logo on the tongue and “Nitro” technology.
Haliburton, the Pacers’ two-time All-Star and two-time All-NBA point guard, led Indiana to its first NBA Finals trip in 25 years, but tore his right Achilles tendon in Game 7 of their Finals loss to the Thunder. He will miss the entire 2025-26 season.
