Across 18 games in Los Angeles, Simmons averaged 2.9 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 3.1 assists in just over 16 minutes a night, failing to secure a meaningful postseason role.Before joining the Clippers, Simmons appeared in 33 games with Brooklyn, posting modest numbers — 6.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 6.9 assists — while continuing to battle recurring injuries that have hampered him in recent years. Despite his defensive versatility and playmaking ability, front offices grew hesitant about investing in him long term.When a fan recently asked on social media if he had retired, Simmons dismissed the idea outright.
