Boston Celtics point guard Derrick White is among the most reliable players in the NBA in terms of consistency, so it might surprise fans of the storied ball club to learn that the University of Colorado – Boulder alum was very nearly late for a game Boston was playing in the NBA Eastern Conference Semifinals.
These things can happen to even the most organized and punctual people we know, but the story of how White nearly ended up being late to such a game is a fascinating one. And the Colorado native took some time to tell us that tale with cohost Welsh on the most recent episode of his “White Noise” podcast.

White and Welsh also get into the time he ended up at an offseason basketball camp with a future Celtics teammate long before he made the NBA, and several other cool tales. Check it out below!
