Aaron Gordon turned 30 on Tuesday, and he celebrated by joining NBA Today live in the middle of the night from Sardinia.

Gordon played a fun little highlight game with the crew, picking his favorite highlights, vowed to bring his best against the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2025-26, then spoke on the excellence of his teammate Nikola Jokic.

“He’s amazing… to get to play around one of the best players, if not the best player of all-time. The gravity that he has, the tip dunk I caught, it’s the gravity he has, he’s shooting a one-legged fadeaway runner, and everyone thinks it’s going in. I think it’s going in. But I’m just trying to be in my spot, do what I do. He makes it click, we have a great understanding of each other on and off the floor, so you guys are gonna see that flourish.”

We’ve already seen the Jokic-Gordon frontcourt pairing flourish since coming together in 2021, not only winning the 2023 title but elevating each other into the best either has ever played.

Jokic leads NBA history in Player Efficiency Rating, above Michael Jordan and LeBron James. Last year, Jokic put up the fourth-best season of all time PER, and he’s responsible for two of the top five campaigns in league history. He also leads those two in Box Plus/Minus, and has four of the five best seasons ever in that stat.

Away from fancy stats, Jokic is one of just nine players with three or more MVPs. But to be considered a top player of all time for most, he’ll need to lead the Denver Nuggets to another championship. Good news, wow, with both he and Gordon in their 30s, the two seemed even more focused on the team’s accomplishments and using the Nuggets‘ newfound depth to overcome the Oklahoma City Thunder.
