With the 2025-26 NBA season fast approaching the Los Angeles Clippers are under a lot of fire.

The Clippers are under investigation after owner Steve Ballmer allegedly used a company called Aspiration to pay Kawhi Leonard an additional $28 million.

However, sports journalist Pablo Torre labeled it a ‘no show job’ since Leonard never worked there.

The Clippers could now face some serious punishments, if found guilty, including having to void Leonard’s contract.

Former Clippers guard Patrick Beverley is one of the most animated NBA players of all-time.

He had one of the best stretches of his career when he was with the Clippers, making a name for himself with his intense defensive style and gritty play. He was a constant pest on defense and a tough competitor.

Beverley did not play in the NBA last season and he has since found success with his podcast The Pat Bev Podcast with Rone.

On the latest episode of his show, he talked about how he might retire from basketball because of the new opportunities he’s gotten from his new haircut.

“So, I went to fashion week… I was cutting my hair, right? I cut my hair, and I wanted to show it.

“This is the new me. This is the new brand. This is the new profile pic, right?

“Because if I don’t play basketball soon, I’m going to retire. It’s the truth, he added.

“I’m not the guy to hold on to it forever, you know. So, with this haircut came pictures, and pictures become opportunities.

“Opportunities become, ‘Pat, maybe you should do this, maybe you should do that.’”

Patrick Beverley’s recent playing career

Beverley is a 12-year NBA veteran, who’s been eyeing an NBA comeback, but he hasn’t played in the NBA since the 2023-24 season.

That season, he played in 47 games with the Philadelphia 76ers before playing in 26 games with the Milwaukee Bucks.

Right now, Beverley is an NBA free agent and he last played basketball for Hapoel Tel Aviv. However, that tenure ended with a mutual contract termination in February 2025.

If Beverley doesn’t get another basketball opportunity soon, he could find himself in an entirely different career path.
