On weekday mornings, Nevada Sports Net will recap three big headlines of the day in its Morning Download. Read below for today’s topics.

1. Nevada basketball adds Las Vegas standout

The Nevada men’s basketball team has added another player with the addition of Christopher Baudreau, who was recently added to the Wolf Pack’s online roster. Baudreau comes from Las Vegas where he played for national powerhouse Bishop Gorman High and was named to the Nevada Preps All-Southern Nevada second team after helping the Gaels win a state championship. A 6-foot-9, 205-pounder post player, Baudreau had 11 points, six rebounds and two blocks in the state-title-game win over Mojave. He played for Gorman as a sophomore and senior and was at Clovis West in Fresno, Calif., as a junior where he was named first-team All-Tri-River League. Baudreau played for Jalen Green Elite on the AAU circuit and doesn’t have a 247Sports recruiting page. He did claim a scholarship offer from Montana in March 2024. His scholarship status at Nevada is unknown, but the Wolf Pack didn’t have a walk-on on this year’s roster before Baudreau’s addition. Nevada has used 13 of its allowed 15 scholarships, a number that rose by two with the House vs. NCAA settlement, although not all teams are maxing out that number.

2. Virginia City’s World Championship Outhouse Races to return

The 36th annual World Championship Outhouse Races return to Virginia City on Oct. 4-5 when decorated outhouses on wheels and teams of racers barrel down historic C Street. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, competitors will vie for the title of “Fastest Outhouse in the West.” The free event will feature live music, food vendors and lighthearted loo-inspired fun. The origin of the event dates to a local protest against the removal of outdoor restrooms in Virginia City. Residents staged their opposition by racing outhouses down main street. That spontaneous act has grown into a signature two-day event filled with outrageous racing and Nevada humor. For more information or to become a participating racer, visit visitvirginiacitynv.com.
