The Brooklyn Nets are more than one week away from officially beginning the 2025-26 NBA season as the team gears up for training camp ahead of what could a tough season. Brooklyn will eventually have to get rid of some players once the regular season comes around, but the franchise is still adding players to the roster to see what can happen.
The Nets announced on Monday that they signed free-agent center David Muoka with training camp set to happen next week as Brooklyn is looking to increase the amount of competition along the way. Muoka, 24, previously spent time with Brooklyn in the 2024 Las Vegas Summer League as he was looking to find his place in the league after he went undrafted in the 2024 NBA Draft.

Muoka played just one game for the Nets in the 2024 summer league, a contest in which played just eight minutes and put up two points, three rebounds, and one block. Heading into the 2024-25 season, Muoka caught on with the Windy City Bulls, the G League afiliate of the NBA’s Chicago Bulls, averaging 10.7 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks per game while shooting 66.9% from the field and 59.5% from the free-throw line.
Muoka, listed at 6-foot-10 and 235 pounds, will likely be signed to some sort of training camp deal as the Nets already have players like Nic Claxton, Day’Ron Sharpe, and Drew Timme vying for playing time at center. More to the point, Brooklyn is already up to 23 players, assuming that Fanbo Zeng, Ricky Council IV, and Grant Nelson are all coming to camp as previous reports have indicated.
Ultimately, Muoka will be competing for the third and last Two-Way spot on Brooklyn’s roster, with Tyson Etienne and EJ Liddell being the other two players already signed to those Two-Way deals. If Muoka isn’t able to get the last remaining Two-Way spot, he will most likely still be in the fold to go to the Long Island Nets, Brooklyn’s G League afiliate, for the 2025-26 campaign.
