Ahead of the 2025-26 season, the Philadelphia 76ers are hoping to manifest a better outcome than the team saw last season. Ideally, one more closely resembling that of the 2000-01 Sixers, who the team is honoring this year, the 25 years after the squad’s impressive Finals run.
Led by Allen Iverson, the Sixers forced their way through the NBA playoffs, overcoming Reggie Miller and the Indiana Pacers, Vince Carter and the Toronto Raptors, and Ray Allen and the Milwaukee Bucks, en route to facing the juggernaut Lakers, led by prime Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant.
While the team ultimately fell in five games, they famously took Game 1 of the matchup on the road in a series in which the Lakers were one of the biggest favorites in NBA Finals history.
Thursday morning, the team revealed one of the most anticipated ways they are celebrating the team, the official court design for the nights the Sixers will honor the ’01 Finals run.
The Sixers revealed their 25th Anniversary celebration court this morning.
To be used on 11/8 vs TOR, 11/9 vs DET, 11/23 vs MIA, 12/4 vs GSW, 12/7 vs LAL, 12/20 vs DAL, 12/23 vs BKN, 1/24 vs NYK, 1/31 vs NOP, 2/11 vs NYK, 3/3 vs SAS, 3/4 vs UTA, 3/23 vs OKC, and 4/12 vs MIL. pic.twitter.com/I4GcDZKeSM

While the organization has not officially confirmed the uniforms accompanying this court at this moment, there will clearly be a tie-in to the Iverson-era uniforms the team wore 25 years ago, almost certainly resembling the team’s black uniforms from that era.
This court unveiling comes after the team revealed official plans to honor the ’01 Finals team earlier this month. The team also announced that the celebration will include in-game and promotional throwbacks, alumni tributes, custom merchandise and much more.
Here’s hoping that honoring this team somehow allows the Sixers to repeat, or even fulfill the accomplishments of that team.
