After advancing to the Eastern Conference finals, the New York Knicks enter the 2025-26 season under new leadership following the hiring of Mike Brown as head coach.
The front office, led by Leon Rose, opted to fire Tom Thibodeau after a 226-174 record and four playoff appearances in five seasons. The group is hopeful that Brown, a two-time Coach of the Year, can help lead the organization to its first NBA Finals since 1999.
The roster remained unchanged primarily, with the team signing only Jordan Clarkson and Guerschon Yabusele to guaranteed contracts. They also signed Malcolm Brogdon, Mohamed Diawara, Alex Len, Garrison Mathews, Matt Ryan and Landry Shamet to training camp deals.
With only 12 players currently on guaranteed contracts, the Knicks are expected to finalize their 15-man roster following training camp. Brogdon and Diawara are both expected to receive strong consideration for a spot on the opening-night roster.
With the team opening training camp on Sept. 24, Rookie Wire examined the Knicks’ depth chart and offered an early projection of the starters and backups entering the season.
