The 2025-26 season is quickly approaching for the Philadelphia 76ers as they look to put a miserable 24-58 season behind them. The Sixers will hope for better health in the coming season as their Big 3 of Joel Embiid, Paul George, and Tyrese Maxey were only able to play a grand total of 18 games together–finishing only 15 in the 2024-25 season.

It’s now time to look ahead to the new season and time to break down each position for the Sixers in an effort to preview what the season might look like. Sixers Wire will continue with the power forwards now and take a look at what the Sixers bring to the floor at the position:

Starter: Paul George

All eyes will be on George entering the 2025-26 season. Coming off a disappointing first season in Philadelphia in which his offensive numbers were down across the board, the 9-time All-Star was battling injuries while adjusting to a new system and situation. He then had offseason surgery on his left knee so it will be interesting to see how he looks when the new season begins.

With that being said, he is one year removed from being named an All-Star in 2024 when he averaged 22.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 3.5 assists while shooting 47.1% from the floor and 41.3% from deep. The Sixers will need him to get closer to hose numbers rather than what he put up in his first season in Philadelphia when his numbers were down across the board. His best basketball is likely behind him when considering age and general wear and tear, but he is still a guy who can contribute to winning basketball.

Depth behind George

Trendon Watford and Jabari Walker are two players who are expected to give Philadelphia some good production off the bench. Watford is somebody who can give the Sixers a ton of versatility as somebody who can make plays with his passing and an overall versatile player from the big man spot. Walker, a 3-year big man, is on a steal of a two-way deal in Philadelphia. He should be on a standard deal very soon.
