It was another rough season last year for the Washington Wizards as they continue to go through their lengthy rebuild.
Of course, the Wizards have built a solid young core led by Alex Sarr, Bilal Coulibaly and Bub Carrington and they also have some solid veteran players like Khris Middleton.

Washington also made some key additions to their roster this offseason as they acquired C.J. McCollum from the New Orleans Pelicans in the Jordan Poole trade and they also acquired Cam Whitmore from the Houston Rockets.
With these moves, the Wizards are hoping to take another step forward this season, though they could also look to make some moves ahead of the trade deadline.
If that is the case, these three players could be potential trade targets for them.

With Jonathan Kuminga’s time with the Golden State Warriors looking like it’s nearing an end due to their standoff over a new contract, the Wizards could target the young forward this season.
For Kuminga, he would give the Wizards another key young player to help with their rebuild while also giving them a solid scorer and defender.
Despite this, the Warriors have a high asking price for their young forward that may cause Washington to look elsewhere to add another intriguing young player to their roster.

While the Wizards do have Sarr manning the center position for them, they could still target Utah Jazz center Walker Kessler.
For Kessler, he has been in trade rumors over the past few seasons and while the Jazz have a high asking price for him, the Wizards may be intrigued about pairing him alongside Sarr in the frontcourt.
The young center is a great inside scorer and defender who could fit well alongside Sarr, which could give Washington one of the best young frontcourt trios in the NBA.

Anfernee Simons

The Wizards could look to add another key scorer to their lineup and if that is the case, they could target Anfernee Simons.
Of course, Simons was already involved in a trade earlier this summer as the Portland Trail Blazers traded him to the Boston Celtics, though it has been reported that Boston is open to moving him this season.
Due to this, the Wizards could look to add the young guard to their roster as he would give them another reliable scorer in their rotation who could help them take the next step in their rebuild.

While the Wizards could target these three players, they could also look elsewhere to add more young talent to their roster as they try to take another step forward in their lengthy rebuild.
