After making a splashy offseason addition, the Orlando Magic enter the 2025-26 season as one of the title favorites under fifth-year head coach Jamahl Mosley.
The organization acquired Desmond Bane from the Memphis Grizzlies on June 15 for Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Cole Anthony, four first-round picks and a pick swap. The move was made to help improve the team’s offense and 3-point shooting, which ranked near the bottom of the league.

Orlando added veteran point guard Tyus Jones on a one-year contract in free agency, while re-signing Paolo Banchero and Moe Wagner. The team also selected Jase Richardson (25th) and Noah Penda (32nd) in the 2025 NBA draft.
Behind their offseason moves, the Magic are currently tied for the seventh-highest odds (plus-2000) to win the championship, the third-best in the Eastern Conference. The group hasn’t advanced past the first round of the playoffs since 2010.
With the team opening training camp on Sept. 30, Rookie Wire examined the Magic’s depth chart and offered an early projection of the starters and backups entering the season.
