Blazermania roared into Gresham Friday afternoon, Sept. 19, during a fan festival that brought plenty of fun to Trail Blazers fans of all ages.

The final stop of the 11th Annual Rip City Rally was at the Gresham Arts Plaza, 401 N.E. Second Street. The event was all about celebrating the fans, giving away swag, and hyping everyone for the upcoming season.

During the rally there were tons of giveaways and games; live music; photo booths and prizes; arts and crafts; temporary tattoos; and open shooting and kids competitions on a temporary court that was erected in the middle of the Arts Plaza.

Trail Blazer broadcaster and former Oregon State player Lamar Hurd shot baskets on the temporary court. Blazers in-arena host Todd Bosma served as the event emcee, and Rip City Radio recorded a live show at the Arts Plaza. Mascots Blaze the Trail Cat and Douglas Fur took photos, and members of the BlazerDancers showcased the 1977 NBA Championship trophy.

Moda Health presented a check to Care Oregon Boys & Girls Club at Rockwood. The Blazers also gifted the city of Gresham with a commemorative plaque and jersey.

The Rip City Rally is about bringing the community together to showcase that the Trail Blazers are more than just “Portland’s team.” Earlier stops during the rally were in Ontario (Sept. 15), Pendleton (Sept. 17), and The Dalles (Sept. 18). The Blazers also visited Alder Elementary School, Centennial Middle School and Open School East High School Friday morning for school assemblies, P.E. activities and career panels.
