The Minnesota Timberwolves are coming off another successful season as they reached the Western Conference Finals for the second consecutive year.
Unfortunately for Minnesota, they were unable to reach the NBA Finals as they fell to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Minnesota will now enter the 2025-26 season looking to make another deep playoff run behind their core of Anthony Edwards and Rudy Gobert, along with both Julius Randle and Naz Reid who both re-signed in free agency.

Of course, the Timberwolves did lose a key player from last season in Nickeil Alexander-Walker who signed with the Atlanta Hawks in free agency.
Despite this, the Timberwolves are expected to be a contender once again this season, though they could look to upgrade their roster ahead of the trade deadline and if that is the case, they could target these three players.

Malik Monk

While the Timberwolves have Donte DiVincenzo as their main scoring guard off the bench, along with Rob Dillingham and Terrence Shannon Jr., they could show interest in Sacramento Kings guard Malik Monk.
The veteran guard is coming off the best season of his NBA career on the offensive end and he also improved his playmaking skills last season.
Because of this, the Timberwolves could target Monk to add another great scorer off the bench as they try to make a run at a title this season.

Collin Sexton

Collin Sexton could be another option for the Timberwolves this season as he would also give them a solid scoring guard off the bench.
Of course, the veteran guard was sent from the Utah Jazz to the Charlotte Hornets earlier this offseason, though the Hornets may be willing to move him again.
If that is the case, Minnesota could show interest in Sexton to add another key scoring guard to their bench.
Duop Reath

Despite re-signing Randle and Reid this offseason and selecting Joan Beringer in the 2025 draft, the Timberwolves could look to add another big man to their bench and Duop Reath could be a potential option for them.

The veteran center is a solid scorer and rebounder who could be on the move this season due to the Portland Trail Blazers’ abundance of frontcourt depth.
For the Timberwolves, they may be able to land Reath at a very cheap price and he could become a key contributor for them off the bench.
While the Timberwolves could target these three players, they could also look elsewhere to upgrade their lineup as they try to make a championship run this season.
