Butler basketball signed 7-foot-1 center Kevin Ndzie for the 2025-26 season.Ndzie, from Cameroon, previously played professionally in Italy and for his national team.
Butler basketball is getting a big addition to its frontcourt with 7-foot-1 center Kevin Ndzie signing with the Bulldogs for the 2025-26 season.
Ndzie, 22, is from Yaounde, Cameroon and most recently played for Urania Milano in the Italian Serie A2. He averaged 4.1 points and 43 rebounds across 34 games during the 2024-25 season, per EuroBasket. He shot 56.3% from the field and 80% from the free throw line. Ndzie has also played for the Cameroon Senior National team, competing in qualifying games during the 2025 FIBA AfroBasket tournament.
Ndzie was expected to sign with Valtur Brindisi for the upcoming season, but once the club signed another big man, Ndzie decided to explore options elsewhere, per pianetabasket. Ndzie left training camp with Valtur Brindisi on Aug. 22 with the intention of obtaining the necessary paperwork to transfer to Butler. His contract with the club was terminated the next day.
“Playing in Europe and representing Cameroon in international competition has given Kevin tremendous experience that he will bring to our program,” Butler coach Thad Matta said. “His length really stands out and will be impactful in our league. We are excited he’s a Bulldog.”
Ndzie is a mobile big with a 7-4 wingspan.
He’ll add depth behind Drayton Jones and Yohan Traore, giving Butler the best frontcourt depth since Matta returned to the program.
Ndzie is enrolled at Butler and will be a junior academically. The Bulldogs have 15 scholarships allocated.
