The Brooklyn Nets are just two days away from the beginning of training camp for the 2025-26 NBA season in which the team will prepare to have a better campaign than last year. Brooklyn will have to make some tough decisions when it comes to cutting down the roster before the regular season comes around, but there are now details on who is being brought to camp.

The Nets will be signing an Exhibit 10 contract prior to the beginning of camp, according to a report on X from NetsDaily on Sunday. NetsDaily noted in the same post that Brooklyn will not be bringing forward Ricky Council IV to camp so it seems like he may have found another opportunity elsewhere. Zeng would be in line to compete for the last of three Two-Way spots on the Nets roster.

HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto reported on Aug. 2 that the Nets agreed to a deal with Zeng and with the news coming after the conclusion of the Las Vegas Summer League, it seems that the contract was for competing in training camp. An Exhibit 10 deal is a non-guaranteed deal that essentially acts as a training camp invitation, giving teams the option to convert it to a two-way contract if the player impresses in camp.

NetsDaily went on to note that while Zeng is expected to be signed to his training camp deal on Monday, forward Grant Nelson is a “future decision” in that regard. What a “future decision” means is unknown at this time, but this could indicate that Nelson is mulling his choices heading into training camp or possibly is considering to be part of Brooklyn’s G League afiliate, the Long Island Nets.

Unlike Zeng, Nelson played for the Nets in the summer league in July, giving head coach Jordi Fernandez and the coaching staff a glimpse into what he could look like at the NBA level. Nelson played in all five games that Brooklyn played in Las Vegas, averaging 6.0 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game while shooting 57.9% from the field and 28.6% from three-point range.
