Sometimes, legend has it, when you get your hair cut, you lose your superpowers, such as the tale of biblical warrior Samson reminds us. But in other situations, getting a haircut can actually grant you some powers you did not have before, as was the case in popular lore for Derrick White among fans of the Boston Celtics.
And the man himself recently took some time to talk about his decision to shave off his trademark afro in favor of a style more commonly associated with Adam Silver. That is, a bald head, for those of you unfamiliar with the dome of the NBA commissioner. Speaking on an episode of his “White Noise” podcast, White sat down with friend and cohost Welsh to discuss how he ended up choosing to cut his hair off to the scalp — and whether he thinks it has helped him play better, as some of his fans seem to believe.
Take a look at the clip embedded below to hear what they had to say about the power of a bald head to elevate your game.
