West Virginia Senior Javon Small was drafted to the Memphis Grizzlies with the 48th overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft.
The 6′3 Guard from South Bend, Indiana averaged 18.6 points per game last season along with 5.6 assists and 4.1 rebounds for the Mountaineers.
He started his colligate career at East Carolina for two seasons between 2021-2023 appearing in 34 total games and averaging 15.8 points per game in his final season.
Small transferred to Oklahoma State for the 2023-24 season, playing and starting in 31 total games averaging 15.1 points per game.
Then in the spring of 2024, Small became one of the first players to transfer to West Virginia as Darian DeVries began to build his roster for the 2024-25 season.
Small started and played in 32 total games for West Virginia in 2024-25 and made a name for himself very quickly. He showed out on a national stage scoring 31 points in an overtime win against #3 Gonzaga in Atlantis.
Last season he had 14 games with more than 20 points and 7 games with at least 25 points, and his 27 points against #2 Iowa State on Jerry West Day will forever be a historic moment for West Virginia Basketball.
