When it comes to former NBA players who ventured to become podcasters, Jeff Teague is one of the funniest. Sure, he had some absurd takes along the way. From predicting that the Hawks will make a deep playoff run with the addition of Kristaps Porzingis to taking a subtle shot at the Bucks for signing Thanasis Antetokounmpo, Teague isn’t afraid to bare it all.

During a recent episode of his Club 520 Podcast, Jaylen Brown dared Teague to call any former teammate to see if they answered. As a result, the one-time champ gleefully took on Brown’s challenge. He went on to call PJ Tucker, Georges Niang, John Lucas III, and Josh Okogie. Only Niang, who answered the second call, and Lucas talked to Teague at first.

When his co-hosts pressed him to call Jayson Tatum, Teague complied. What followed was pure chaos that made everybody burst into laughter inside the studio.

Kudos to Jayson Tatum for actually picking up the phone despite his busy schedule. It certainly made the day for Teague and his co-hosts on their popular podcast. Jaylen Brown was impressed, too, that Tatum found the time to answer the call of his one-time teammate.

As for Teague, he was one of the most reliable point guards in the 2010s era. He made the All-Star team once as a member of the Atlanta Hawks. Unfortunately, he became a journeyman after his stint with Atlanta ended in 2016, seemingly struggling with the NBA life soon after. He hopped around teams like the Indiana Pacers, Minnesota Timberwolves, and the Milwaukee Bucks.

But wasn’t Jeff Teague a member of the Boston Celtics sometime in his 12-year career? Yes, he was. Teague signed with Boston as a free agent in November 2020, playing 34 games with the team before he was traded to the Bucks at the 2021 trade deadline. That trade turned into a blessing because Milwaukee went on to win the NBA Finals that year. Teague retired in 2021.
