ATLANTA — ‘Cat fans looking to hit the road this season can get their tickets to the 2025 CBS Sports Classic starting Thursday, Sept. 25, at 11 a.m.

Kentucky will face St. John’s Dec. 20 in the 2025 CBS Sports Classic 

The annual college basketball showcase will take place at State Farm Arena in Atlanta 

Tickets go on sale Thursday, Sept. 25, at 11 a.m. 

There is also a 24-hour presale window that begins Wednesday, Sept. 24, at 11 a.m. 

The annual event, set for Dec. 20 at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, will see head coach Mark Pope and Kentucky Men’s Basketball face St. John’s and ex-Wildcat coach Rick Pitino. Tipoff is 12:30 p.m.

The game will be followed by North Carolina and Ohio State at 3 p.m.

Tickets are available on the event’s website, where fans can register for a 24-hour presale that will begin Wednesday, Sept. 24, at 11 a.m. 

Kentucky and St. John’s have met 16 times, with the Wildcats owning an 11-5 all-time advantage. The last time the two programs squared off was in 2012, when Kentucky defeated the Red Storm 81-59.

Pope, who was captain of the 1995-96 Kentucky team that won the national championship, played under Pitino, who was head coach at Kentucky from 1989-97. 

Kentucky is 5-6 in the CBS Sports Classic. It will be the Red Storm’s first appearance in the event. Last year’s event was held at Madison Square Garden in New York; Chicago, Las Vegas, New Orleans and Cleveland have also hosted. 

The Wildcats went 24-12 (10-8 Southeastern Conference) during the 2024-25 season and are coming off a Sweet 16 appearance. The team begins the 2025-26 season Nov. 4 at Rupp Arena against Nicholls; the SEC opener is Jan. 3 at Alabama.
