Loudonville, N.Y. (WRGB) — It might be only the beginning of Fall around the Capital Region but the road to March is now officially underway. Both the Siena Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams began their fall practice schedule on Tuesday afternoon, each with their eyes set on another jump in play, with the ultimate goal of bringing home a MAAC Title.

For the men’s team, it’s year two at the helm for head coach Gerry McNamara. In year one, McNamara led the Saints to a (14-18) record, a 10-win increase from the year prior. Headed into this season, Siena returns four of its top five scorers making it clear that the standard has gone from competing, to now finding ways to win the games that they had lost in 2024-25 (lost six one-possession games). The goal for this group remains the same, win 20 games and earn a spot in the Big Dance by winning the MAAC Tournament.

The men’s team will begin their season at home hosting Bryant at MVP Arena on November 3rd.

On the other side of the ball, Terry Primm and the Siena Women’s team begin the year in a different spot. A roster overhaul for the Saints sees them bring in 11 new faces to the program. In year one under Primm, Siena finished a (17-14) campaign in a loss in the MAAC Quarterfinals, then going on to get a first round exit from the WNIT. Now, this new-look group will begin a quest to bring home their first MAAC Championship since 2001.
