THE SAGA CONTINUES DOWN THERE. THANK YOU. BREAKING NEWS OUT OF THE IOWA STATE MEN’S BASKETBALL PROGRAM TONIGHT. ONE OF ITS STAR PLAYERS IS GOING TO BE OUT FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME. JEFF DUBROF JOINS US NOW. JEFF, THIS IS NOT THE NEWS FANS WERE EXPECTING TO HEAR TODAY. NOT THE NEWS THE TEAM PROBABLY WANTED TO HEAR EITHER. YEAH, I MEAN, IT’S A TUESDAY. WE’RE NORMALLY TALKING ABOUT FOOTBALL RIGHT NOW AND INSTEAD WE’RE TALKING ABOUT BASKETBALL. IOWA STATE ANNOUNCING THEIR STAR POINT GUARD TAMIN LIPSEY, IS GOING TO MISS THE NEXT 4 TO 6 WEEKS OF ACTION WITH A GRADE TWO MCL SPRAIN. HE SUFFERED THAT IN PRACTICE ON TUESDAY. SENIOR GUARD WAS AN ALL-AMERICAN LAST SEASON. HE’S A TWO TIME ALL-BIG 12 SELECTION, AND HE AVERAGED JUST UNDER 11 POINTS FOR THE CYCLONES LAST YEAR. IOWA STATE HEAD COACH T.J. OTZELBERGER WILL HAVE NO FURTHER COMMENT ON THE INJURY. THAT’S PER THE RELEASE THAT THE SCHOOL SENT OUT. IF LIPSEY WERE TO RETURN IN THAT 4 TO 6 WEEK TIME FRAME, IT’S GOING TO GET HIM ON TRACK TO PLAY THE OPENER ON NOVEMBER 3RD. BUT OF COURSE, WE’RE GOING TO CONTINUE TO MONITOR THIS STORY AS IT DEVELOPS.
