The Phoenix Suns are introducing 14 newcomers to their 21-player training camp roster.Three notable additions to watch are Dillon Brooks, Jalen Green, and Mark Williams.
The Phoenix Suns have 21 players entering training camp with 14 being newcomers.
Here are the three must-see newcomers on Suns media day Wednesday, Sept. 24, beginning at 10 a.m. at PHX Arena.
Fans can watch media day on Arizona’s Family Sports from 10 a.m. to noon and on the Suns YouTube channel.
Dillon Brooks
He has a scowl, is edgy, trash talks and has been viewed as someone who crosses the line – but he also has a wide smile and plays with passion, defensive purpose and intensity.
Brooks was ejected from his preseason debut in Houston two years ago for a foul on Daniel Theis that was upgraded to a flagrant 2 for hitting Theis below the belt. He received a $25,000 fine for “recklessly making contact” in Theis’ groin area.
In the last three seasons, Brooks has been assessed 49 technical fouls total (16 in 2024-25, 15 in 2023-24 and 18 in 2022-23), four flagrant fouls ( zero in 2024-25, two in 2023-24 and two in 2022-23) and five ejections (one in 2024-25, two in 2023-24 and two in 2022-23) in the regular season, according to FOX statistics.
His back-and-forth with LeBron James is legendary. He and Devin Booker have had their share of battles.
Now with Phoenix, Brooks already admitted this summer he can’t wait to get his first technical foul in a Suns uniform.
He’s the guy teams hate to play against, but love having on their team. He’s already talked about embracing the challenge of joining a team expected to have a down season.

He’s fashion, style – and painted fingernails.
The latter led to a back-and-forth when Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green during the NBA playoffs last season.
Green is also Devin Booker’s new backcourt mate as he and Brooks were part of the Kevin Durant trade to the Rockets.
The second overall pick in the 2021 draft is very talented and was a key player in Houston’s resurgence, but the Rockets moved forward without him.
So Green is now fashion, style, painted fingernails, talented – and extra motivated.
Mark Williams
Sour patch fan?
The Charlotte Hornets posted a short video of Williams walking into a room and receiving two bags of candy from someone wishing him happy birthday last Dec. 16, 2024.
One of the bags was Sour Patch. Not sure if it was gummies or what, but he lit up like Christmas when receiving it.
“That’s good stuff right here,” he said. “Appreciate it.”
There are plenty of topics to discuss with Phoenix’s new 7-footer who the Suns yielded two first-round picks and guard Vasa Micic to the Hornets to get him.
His injuries. Williams has played in only 106 games in three NBA seasons.
His potential. The former Duke star averaged 15.3 points and 10.2 rebounds last season.
His future. Williams is in the last year of a four-year deal and will be a restricted free agent in 2026.
