Multiple criminal charges that had been filed against him, were dismissed earlier this week. His arrest came 2 years ago, when Gordon allegedly began behaving erratically in a juice shop in Connecticut, hours after his alma mater, UConn won the NCAA national championship that year.
Ben Gordon’s criminal charges dismissed
Approved by a state judge in 2024, Ben Gordon completed a probation program earlier this month. And now, all charges against him have been dismissed by the court, and on top of that, his court records have been sealed off. He was arrested in 2023 in Connection, when authorities were called after he suddenly started behaving weirdly in a juice shop. This happened just hours after the University of Connecticut won the 2023 NCAA National Championship. Now, he is a free man once more, ready to walk away, almost 2 years since the arrest. Darnell Crosland, who is Gordon’s lawyer, has praised the former player’s dedication in overcoming his mental health challenges. The threatening charges as well as the possession of weapons on him has been removed from his record as well. Gordon last played for the Texas Legends in the NBA G League back in 2017.
Ben Gordon has multiple arrest records
The 2023 incident back in Connection was not the first time Ben Gordon, who was drafted to the NBA by the Chicago Bulls, was arrested. He suffers from bipolar disorder and depression, which has caused incidents, leading to his arrests multiple times over the years. Gordon’s lawyer, Darnell Crosland, said in a statement.”Mental health is really important and the court saw his commitment to doing the right thing in life and that is why they sealed his record and dismissed all of his charges. I am blessed to have been his lawyer.”In his overall career as a professional basketball player, Gordon played in the NBA for 11 years, and won the NBA Sixth Man Award on his rookie year back in 2005.
